Seattle Music Scene * Real Stories, Real Life

This young and independent artist is a Marine from Seattle.  Depicting life experiences with war, love, and life in his music, especially from his time in country on the combat front lines in Iraq. His music hits the mark with flying colors.

Harwood attributes his survival of war and life to his love for music stating, “Playing music has played a critical role in  living my truth.”

Born in Alaska and raised in Washington, this Seattle-area native enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2003. Honorably discharged in 2007 after three tours in Iraq, he worked odd jobs until pursuing a career in law enforcement and corrections.

Harwood has a passion for music and mincing words.  From a songwriting and vocal perspective, Steve idolizes Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Chris Stapleton, Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, Pink and Adele. He loves rock and rap unequivocally.  His fascination with words and analogies are influenced by The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and Eminem. His time in the military was spent trash talking and cracking jokes with friends, as a result of these influences.

As Harwood aims for the cross-over market, he continues to develop as a new artist and he makes every effort to remain open and vulnerable while writing his songs, arguably the most challenging part of the process.  He draws on his vast and unique life experience to tell stories that people can relate to in the hope his songs will reach the masses for years to come.
